Heath Farm Barn was a refurbishment and renovation of a series of stone and brick-built barns. The buildings were in a very poor state of repair having suffered from several decades of neglect.
The site was purchased with consent to convert into a three bedroom property, further consent was gained to convert to a five bedroom property with large detached garage. Significant works have been undertaken to restore the building using the original materials by local craftsmen. The property is finished to a high standard internally and has extensive landscaped gardens externally.

A converted Victorian reservoir and renovated forge, connected with a charred timber link, have created a spectacular home in Kent for the Kewell Family. This extraordinary, renovated home has really transformed its look. At first, the Kewell Family wanted to knock down the original build and start from scratch, but their plans become more ambitious. The family got in touch with MRM Design Studio to help build their dream home as well as Construction South East. The property is made up of a Victorian forge, a new timber-clad link, and a converted underground reservoir which has a planted roof seating area. YES Glazing Solutions supplied and install our YES Heritage Aluminium French doors and casement windows, which flooded natural light into their home. Our YES Heritage windows and doors featured an Art Deco style handle which added a luxury look. The Kewell Family property turned out to look amazing and has been recognised by many magazines, such as Self Build Magazine, which you can read a full article and the behind the scenes of this project.

The setting here was an absolute delight, a landlocked gardener’s cottage with an abundance of beauty all round. This was very inspiring for the layout and design for one of our most favoured kitchens.
Already home to several H&P freestanding cabinets, we wanted continuity and harmony within the new kitchen addition. With a love of fabrics and antiques the design remit was to provide a backdrop of simplicity and lightness to allow for the beloved accessories to sit pride of place. The natural choice of style was our Shaker design, with its clean and uncluttered look. Whilst the soft and muted colour palette choice completed a picture of calmness and serenity.

The open plan kitchen, dining and living room has been considerately designed; furnished with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Reclaimed oak flooring and timber shelving add warmth and character. The Ercol dining chairs are vintage, with new cushions upholstered in Christopher Farr cloth. The charcoal tweed sofa is from Sofa.com. The kitchen units are the Stanbury style by DIY kitchens, painted F&B Hardwick White.

A natural swimming pond sits beautifully into the landscape. Aquatic plants filter the water without the need for chemicals, providing a haven for wildlife as well as a clean and tranquil place to swim.

A tired old cramped kitchen was transformed into an open, light space incorporating the oak framed garden room as the dining area. This opened up the kitchen enabling Shona to cleverly design smart storage by removing the wall cabinets and old extractor resulting in the area being flooded with natural light.

Set comfortably in the Northamptonshire countryside, this family home oozes character with the addition of a Westbury Orangery. Transforming the southwest aspect of the building with its two sides of joinery, the orangery has been finished externally in the shade ‘Westbury Grey’. Perfectly complementing the existing window frames and rich Grey colour from the roof tiles. Internally the doors and windows have been painted in the shade ‘Wash White’ to reflect the homeowners light and airy interior style.

This bedroom has a clean and fresh feel to it. Playful accents of blue and pink threaded through the neutral colour scheme draw the eye and add interest to the space, making for a welcoming and beautiful interior.
