Wexford Range
This traditional solid-wood kitchen has been thoughtfully refreshed, finding a second life through hand-painted cabinetry in a soft, uplifting snow mint. The result is a space that honours its craftsmanship while embracing a lighter, more playful expression.
In-frame cabinetry with beaded shaker doors is crafted from tropical sapele, its natural warmth accentuated through hand-painted mint finishes applied later in the kitchen’s life. Doors are hung on exposed brass butt hinges and opened with solid knobs, reinforcing the kitchen’s authentic, heritage character. Black speckled granite forms the worktops and upstand along with a solid sapele island worktop, while a cement tile backsplash behind the cooker hob introduces texture and visual interest.
The galley layout is arranged with a bespoke canopy hood and flanking wall units, supported by decorative corbels, float above the Aga range, facing an undermounted sink, drawer packs, plate rack, and glazed wall cabinets. Beyond the main run, the island is pulled outward to the living area, complete with a secondary sink and seating. An integrated fridge-freezer and pantry cabinets mirror a nearby media unit, which has been intentionally left unpainted to celebrate the beauty of the raw timber.
The rich, reddish tones of the sapele paired with the pale mint cabinetry create a palette that feels both refreshing and nostalgic. Delicate bespoke details such as corbels beneath wall units and between cabinet feet add moments of charm throughout.
Together, these elements form a kitchen that is quaint yet confident, playful yet rooted in tradition, and full of character earned through time and thoughtful renewal.
