Light Filled Family Home
Complete refurb of a rental property in Mount Merrion, Co Dublin. I had rented this property for my clients for many years. When it came to the renovations, I advised the client that everything should be white, with laminate flooring everywhere, with not as much as a pair of curtains on any window. The client queried, "Surely you'd need some colour?" "What about the bedrooms; surely they'd need curtains?" The answer from me was a definite "No"! With architect on board, the extension was built and no colour added. With not even a bit of carpet on the stairs! As the project progressed, the architect decided he'd rent it himself for a year to try it out. After he vacated various tenants have "done battle" (I kid you not) to rent this house whenever it came onto the market. In fairness, its proximity to good schools no doubts helps but its attractiveness still stands the test of time. All the tenants thus far have been very happy in this "white boring box of a house".
