Need carpet for 4 bedrooms, 2 x stairs & landing. Have kids, no pets.
Love the plush look & feel of the soft/shimmery Saxony style (eg isense) but concerned it may flatten & wear very quickly, especially on stairs & traffic zones in bedrooms.
Plus, we can only have a thin particular type of underlay as there is underfloor heating. So we can’t rely on a thick bouncy underlay to make it feel good underfoot.
The other option is a more ‘normal’ twist style, shorter pile, which I presume would be more hard wearing & forgiving. But will it feel horrible to walk on bearing in mind the thin underlay? Are there any twist piles that look/feel soft & shimmery too like a Saxony or is that a total contradiction?
