“I took proud ownership of my new extension to my house this morning and would like to thank JEA for putting up with all my questions and changes I made throughout the project. Their patience and service is top quality and the finished product far exceeds my original ideas. I would thoroughly recommend them for any project or new build you have in mind as their expertise and knowledge is second to none and they have great contacts in the building trade. “David worked on our house renovation from Jan-Jul 2016. We found him to be personable, accessible, opinionated (in a good way) and committed to delivering a project that works well and is beautiful. During the design of our house, David worked through three iterations of drawings until he and we agreed a plan. David gained a good understanding of what we needed and incorporated our needs into the plans. David helped us to recruit a very good builder. During the build it was invaluable having David around to ensure building was being done in accordance with national safety standards but also to negotiate with the builder how certain work should be done e.g. David insisted on RSJs being recessed, had strong opinions on the height of the extension, and the positioning of a roof light to achieve maximum light and aesthetic appeal. David was a great help in telling us where to source materials in particular the door but also floors, the kitchen and bathroom furniture. He renovates houses all the time so if you know what you want, he can tell you where to get it. David is really interested in producing beautiful work so he's a great person to have in your corner and is always a pleasure to deal with. We recommend highly.”

“Buildtech have a very comprehensive structure in place to manage your project. As a client you get access to your own client portal where all your project information is accessible; drawings, project costings, daily logs, programme etc. The entire team can communicate through the portal, from Architect, engineer, project manager etc. It's reassuring to know nothing happens without the client knowing the costs and that progress is always updated via the system.”

“We worked with Josh to design and project manage an extension to our 1930s house in Dublin 7. It included demolishing our old kitchen and lean-to sheds, and building a new kitchen/dining room with a downstairs bathroom / utility room. Beforehand we visited several clients in the local area who had positive experiences with House Architects. The pricing structure was very clear. Josh was a pleasure to work with, and unflappable, which is always very reassuring. Once we had designs we were happy with, he worked to put the project out to tender and managed the relationship and the payments to the builder. This was the most valuable aspect for us. Particularly towards the end of the project, there were probably issues where we would have let the builder cut corners, but it was great to have Josh there to hold the line and ensure the project was completed to specification. We've been living with our extension for 18 months now and we're delighted with it - it's transformed the way we use the house and the garden.”

“People say that building a house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they were not wrong. We 'survived' our house build and now we can safely say that Emmett and Fingal Planning consultants was one of the very few people that gave us consistent and sound advice/service. Our build was very complicated due to many factors, but chiefly the type of the house, a low-energy "passive house"-style, the location and having several contractors involved posed the greatest challenges. Emmett guided us through the process in his trademark no-nonsense approach and we were very lucky to have him when trying to manage all the stakeholders that a build inevitably has, like authorities, contractors, neighbours and so on. During the rough patches of the project, he always stuck by his word and actually did more than he originally signed up for. When Emmett says he will do something he does it; he is open, honest, and little ruffles his feathers - a much needed attribute when emotions are high and money is low! We would not have completed the project without Emmett and we gladly give him our highest recommendation. Michael and Christine Mullan-Jensen”

“We have used Ambient architecture on 3 projects now. Our first project was a conversion of a recording studio in Temple Bar into a wonderful "upside down" duplex apartment with cathedral ceilings and a roof garden. We were over the moon with the result; there was a real wow factor. Next we moved on to renovating an Edwardian house in Rathgar and we went straight back to Ambient to do the design and oversee it to completion. Once again we were really delighted with the results. Our most recent project was our current house in Rathgar which is a Victorian. The house was in a terrible state when we bought it so it required a top to bottom makeover. Stefan in Ambient designed a beautiful modern light-filled extension at the rear and oversaw the delivery of a really top notch job on the renovation of the old part of the house. Iknow that in between our various projects Ambient went on to win an architectural competition for the design of a sports hall in a south Dublin school. I'm not surprised as we can see the creativity flowing through to the design elements in our house. Would highly recommend Ambient!”

“David Moran is thoroughly professional and will only advise you in an honest transparent way. I found this architect to be highly knowledgeable and he takes whatever time is needed to explain things to me, the client. He never rushed me and that meant I always had time to ask as many questions as needed. He is reliable and trustworthy. “Five years after completion, we are still very pleased with Brendan's work on a major refurbishment of our 1930s-built home. As is clear from our rating, we have no hesitation in recommending him as architect/designer/project supervisor. As with any such work, one still has to do one's own due diligence at each phase of the project - particularly during the design/specification phase, in addition to construction. Other professionals we employed for this project volunteered that they had very rarely seen such detailed drawings/specifications. Inevitably, there are a few things we would have done slightly differently, but very few.”
