David Moran Architects
Architects in Oldbawn, Co. Dublin
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars26 October 2016
“David Moran is thoroughly professional and will only advise you in an honest transparent way. I found this architect to be highly knowledgeable and he takes whatever time is needed to explain things to me, the client. He never rushed me and that meant I always had time to ask as many questions as needed. He is reliable and trustworthy. He has not only helped me but also 2 other friends of mine who were needing the same work done as me. This architect is excellent on planning issues, building regulations and legal matters in relation to building. Dr. Annette Hunter mobile: 083 46 31 297”

“We've recently completed a renovation project with DW Architects and our experience could not have been more positive. David really listened to our wishes and needs and took these to a whole new level creating something really special and unique for us. The design was everything we wanted and more. David was also phenomenal throughout the entire planning and build process. He was so involved at every stage and every decision - not just structural design issues but also interior design decisions. We felt so supported at all times. I would highly recommend DW Architects for anyone considering instructing an architect - one of the best decisions we ever made.”

“Eva provides a unique and really useful service. In 2 hours she gave me scaled drawings of 4 options to change the layout of the kitchen/living/dining space. As an architect she understands light and space plus the practical implications of changes.I am really excited now about taking it forward with Eva.”

“I took proud ownership of my new extension to my house this morning and would like to thank JEA for putting up with all my questions and changes I made throughout the project. Their patience and service is top quality and the finished product far exceeds my original ideas. I would thoroughly recommend them for any project or new build you have in mind as their expertise and knowledge is second to none and they have great contacts in the building trade. If I ever decide to build a new build or extend again onto my current house I will be using these guys.”

“Tasked with the complete renovation of a large seaside 1960s holiday property, and with no prior experience of property renovation I found myself in need of expert advice. The house suffered from a litany of problems dating back to the original build, which needed immmediate remedy, and also required an internal reconfiguration to make it more suitable for modern living. I hired DMVF Architects to oversee the project from design and planning permission through to the completion of the building works. I worked closely with Colm Doyle of DMVF for 6 months on the project, and found his advice on every element - from structural considerations to interior design decisions - invaluable. The project was completed on time, and on budget, and far exceeded the expectations of my family for whom I oversaw the project. The core issues such as chronic damp have been cured, and the house enjoys a new lease of life as the perfect holiday home. I have no hesitation in recommending DMVF Architects, and Colm Doyle in particular.”

“O'keeffe Architects are a friendly and creatively motivated architectural practice. Their work is of an excellent standard which stands out as being quite unique. Each and every project that I have photographed for them as an architectural photographer has a distinctive flare that lends to the vital ingredient to produce quality images that further reinforce their design skills. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to a homeowner .”

“We worked with Josh to design and project manage an extension to our 1930s house in Dublin 7. It included demolishing our old kitchen and lean-to sheds, and building a new kitchen/dining room with a downstairs bathroom / utility room. Beforehand we visited several clients in the local area who had positive experiences with House Architects. The pricing structure was very clear. Josh was a pleasure to work with, and unflappable, which is always very reassuring. Once we had designs we were happy with, he worked to put the project out to tender and managed the relationship and the payments to the builder. This was the most valuable aspect for us. Particularly towards the end of the project, there were probably issues where we would have let the builder cut corners, but it was great to have Josh there to hold the line and ensure the project was completed to specification. We've been living with our extension for 18 months now and we're delighted with it - it's transformed the way we use the house and the garden.”

“David worked on our house renovation from Jan-Jul 2016. We found him to be personable, accessible, opinionated (in a good way) and committed to delivering a project that works well and is beautiful. During the design of our house, David worked through three iterations of drawings until he and we agreed a plan. David gained a good understanding of what we needed and incorporated our needs into the plans. David helped us to recruit a very good builder. During the build it was invaluable having David around to ensure building was being done in accordance with national safety standards but also to negotiate with the builder how certain work should be done e.g. David insisted on RSJs being recessed, had strong opinions on the height of the extension, and the positioning of a roof light to achieve maximum light and aesthetic appeal. David was a great help in telling us where to source materials in particular the door but also floors, the kitchen and bathroom furniture. He renovates houses all the time so if you know what you want, he can tell you where to get it. David is really interested in producing beautiful work so he's a great person to have in your corner and is always a pleasure to deal with. We recommend highly.”
