The kitchen garden was designed around the Hidcote greenhouse, which included raised borders, built in the same heritage bricks as the base of the greenhouse.
Alitex GlasshousesOur client had a desire to reinstate and recreate the unique wooden glasshouse that they were lucky enough to have in the grounds of their home, which they moved into around 20 years ago.
Our client decided to replace the structure in aluminium, as it is far more durable than wood, with very little maintenance.
The glasshouse no longer houses plants, but instead is available to hire for events and photoshoots. It is attached at the rear to the original wall which separates but also joins it to the original potting sheds and boiler house brickwork complex at the back, now restored and developed into beautifully furnished accommodation.

Alitex GlasshousesThe Wimpole greenhouse was the instinctive choice for our client. It was the first addition to their vegetable garden when they started renovating it, and designed the raised planters and beds around it. Our client chose Wood Sage powder coating, for it’s soft and neutral tones.

Alitex GlasshousesWe worked with Florence Court, Northern Ireland, on the restoration of the Kitchen Garden back to its former 1930’s glory. Part of the journey was to replace two existing structures, so we designed a Vine house and a Peach house.
The Vine house is used as a community space for events as well as growing tomatoes, aubergines and two lemon trees. The Peach house is used for propagation as well as housing peaches, apricots and nectarines.

With 7 metres of Traditional Benching, there is plenty of space for our clients to grow their favourite Tigerella and Sweet Millions tomatoes ready to make chutney. As well as growing fresh produce to enjoy, our clients wanted this to be a space to relax and enjoy a cup of tea.
The addition of an extra door instead of just one in this cruciform structure creates a more free flowing path through the greenhouse.

Alitex GlasshousesThe large greenhouse at THE PIG on the Beach is at the very heart of an idyllic kitchen garden.
We worked closely with the team THE PIG on the beach to ensure the greenhouse was located in a natural setting within the garden. Attached to the wall at each gable end, the greenhouse is an integral feature of the garden.
The greenhouse is used by the Kitchen Garden team in producing crops for their home-grown menu, as well as a spot for guests to look around during their stay.
