This sleek garden office was built for a client in West Sussex who wanted to move their home office out of the house and into the garden. In order to meet our brief of providing a contemporary design, we included Western Red Cedar cladding. This softwood cladding has beautiful tones of brown, red and orange. The sliding doors and full length window allow natural light to flood in to the room, whilst the desk height window offers views across the garden. We can add an area of separate storage to all of our garden room builds. In the case of this structure, we have hidden the entrance to the side of the building and have continued the cedar cladding across the door. As a result, the room is concealed but offers the storage space needed. The interior of the storage is ply-lined, offering a durable solution for garden storage on the garden room.

fully bespoke Garden Room for our clients Joe & Jo in Surbiton Surrey. The room was fully bespoke L shaped design based on our Dawn room from our signature range. The site was very challenging as was on a slope and a flood plan and had a 250-Year-old Oak tree next to the intended location of the room. The Oaktree also had a `tree protection order on it, so could not be trimmed or moved and we had to consult and work with an Arbourculturist on the build and foundations. The room was clad in our Canadian Redwood cladding and complimented with a corner set of 5 leaf bi-fold doors and further complimented with a separate external entrance door to the office area. The Garden room was designed to be a multifunctional space for all the family to use and that included separate areas for the Home office and Lounge. The home office was designed for 2 peopled included a separate entrance door and 4 sets of pencil windows to create a light and airy office looking out towards the Beautiful Oaktree. The lounge and bar area included. A lounge area with a TV and turntable and a bespoke build Bar with Sink and storage and a feature wall with wooden slats. The room was further complimented. A separate toilet and washbasin and shower. A separate utility room. The overall room is complimented with dual air conditioning/heating. We also designed and built the raised stepped Decking area by Millboard

Our garden sheds and outdoor buildings don’t have to be dumping grounds for tools, bikes, bins and all the extraneous items that haven’t found a home inside the house, instead they can be whole new spaces that you can turn your design eye to, just like any other room of the house. If you’ve lived in a small house or flat with no outside space, you’ll appreciate the added bonus an additional structure can give you. Homeowners across the UK and Ireland are transforming garden sheds, building garden offices and extending their homes to create contemporary garden rooms to really make the most of the space we have, because as we know, in some places in the UK and Ireland, space is like gold dust.

Which garden building should I go for?

It always makes sense to work with what you have, so if you have a garden shed already, think about how you could use it if you cleared it out and gave it a lick of paint. For eco-lovers and those that want to retain a lush garden look, grass covered walls and roofs will help your garden room to blend in with its surroundings or wooden cladding will also give a natural look if you don’t want to to go all out with the grass. When it comes to your interior design, a habitable, high-spec garden room is really no different from any room in your main house, so the decisions will come down to personal style, taste and needs.
