Pathway on side of house using different sized circular pavers
Tina Worboys Landscape & Garden Design
This classic long London garden required gentle zoning to maximise sun, space for a large shed plus plenty of space for the family's two young children to play and explore nature. With the beautiful avenue of huge London Plane trees as a backdrop, the trees and hedges of varying heights within the garden blended the space with its surroundings. The lush, cocooning feeling was enhanced by abundant planting and a fresh lawn.
A deck off the main house was constructed to capture the evening sun. Designed in a dynamic shape to offer multiple seating areas from the relaxed bistro table and chairs to the larger dining area.
At the very end of the garden the new large shed created a seating nook which captured the morning sun. Reclaimed paving slabs from a neighbour were laid to create a relaxed seating area perfect for morning coffee and later welcome shade when the sun baked the garden.
A delicate palette of paints created a warmth and harmony to the various wooden surfaces and allowed the planting to sing out.
A garden of two halves meant borders of full shade and full sun. Abundant planting, peppered with wild flowers filled both borders with a mini wildflower meadow separating the main lawn from the shed zone. Leaf shade and texture were used to great effect to add interest to deep shade.
As well as the mini meadow, wild areas were embraced along with a container pond which the children loved. A water fountain nestled into the ivy covered fence added a gentle sound to the seating area, while bee and bug hotels filled every nook.
The garden was lush and cocooning while embracing its surrounding, with plenty of space to live, play and grow.

The existing extension was re-built with its silhouette reflecting the pitch of the original conservatory - this is doubled across the site in the form of a saw tooth roof design.
A green roof sits on the roof slopes to elevate the garden
aspect up towards the rear first floor rooms.

Native Edge Landscape
A steeply graded front yard is transformed with a beautiful custom meandering staircase down to the front entry that provides a true sense of arrival as it lulls guests through the landscape, allows for enjoyment of the space, and helps ease runoff flowing toward the house. Planted with beautiful natives and dressed with Texas hardwood mulch, large chunk blackstar gravel, and accented with limestone boulders excavated from the site, this blend of hardscape captivates the eye, adding visual interest all year 'round. A custom, contemporary metal hand railing adds a touch of modernity and a ton of safety, while the stairs themselves visually marry to the stone of the front porch. Landscape lighting accents the hardscape and landscape of this project while providing safe lighting for maneuvering the stairway at night, and extended enjoyment of the entire property.
