The bedroom is west facing and living room is east facing..

Try and choose 3 colours and then stick to them throughout for cohesion or you might create a sort of dolls house where every room is different. I would paint your banisters bright white and stick to white. blue or grey in the bedroom. You could always paint the wardrobes to match the wall. Hard to see without seeing pics of the other rooms like the living room colours.

I think green would be so nice in the bedroom. Such a soothing, restful colour. The grey headboard is a dark neutral so should fit in nicely I think. Some ideas below. I think I would paint the wardrobes a simple white, and then you have more choice in wall colours. Tedious job but will make a huge difference. The stair rails could be painted white, with maybe the top hand rails left natural along with the newels. Most rooms in my house are a different colour but all the shades are quite soft and gentle - greys, greens and blues. Only the kitchen has a deeper teal shade on the walls. Your kitchen is lovely. The living room ideas seem a little cool with the white and the navy. I think it would be better to paint or wallpaper the long wall where the media unit is, rather than three finish - the white, navy and the wallpaper. What do you think? You obviously love navy, but teamed with white it can be a bit stark. However it can look amazing with other shades to brighten or soften it. As a living room is often a room to relax and chill in I would use a softer palate such as taupes or even green again or a soft pink, but of course there are so many options!

Love your kitchen colour. The living room will look very smart when completed. I think a light grey almost silvery colour would complement the dark blue very well and is less harsh than pure white. Try some samples and see how you feel about the colours. Some colours are happier together than others and create less of a statement. As the bedroom is upstairs try a sample of the olive green and see if you like it. It's easier to create cohesion per floor.

Thank you Sonia, I love the greens but my husband is not keen on them really. But I will get a sample to paint and see..

I thought the downstairs living room with blue will tie in the kitchen, but I see what you mean about the white and blue contrast.. and we have it in our kitchen dining area which is fine but may be not that much if a contrast for living.

The wall on the media wall side will pretty much be the media wall unit.. the only long wall will be the opposite and I'm not bold enough to go with a dark colour for such a big wall.. hence why we thought of going dark for the smaller walls in the living..

Isla, thank you, it was a choice after a lot of deliberation, but we love it.
