open plan layout ideas - where to place the kitchen

Hi there
Please can someone help with where we should place our kitchen, living area and dining area in this open place space. We did a 3m rear extension hoping it will solve all our problems but seems to not have solved anything.
The kitchen is the main problem.
In the new extension we wanted the living room area so we will have TV on one wall and Sofa and another wall
We are open to ideas

Kitchen on the left hand side as you walk into the space island in the middle and dinning table to the right hand side next to the utility.
Sofa sitting by the bifold area.
Alternatively you can have the dining table under the lantern and sofa at the opposite end of the kitchen.

I agree with everything said so far. Would suggest you get built in book shelvers on both sides of fireplace, lift tv into a slot it fits perfectly into (make sure you have power on both sides). Then it will disappear more rather than fight with fireplace as focal point. I am always disappointed with mirrors over fireplaces, they become dark, are to high to reflect much. Plus then you have three rectangles fighting for center stage. I'd say very colorful artwork instead. Wonder if you can reorient tv where the big chairs are so both tv and fireplace are addressed? Color, maybe you should decide on furniture first?

Hi I notice your blind and lamp are Laura Ashley Pelham. Laura Ashley does a duck egg white, pale duck egg and duck egg paint colours. Maybe you could have the duck egg white as the predominant colour and use in both rooms but also use the pale duck egg or duck egg in the lounge, or add some wallpaper. Not sure grey walls would work with the kitchen units. Perhaps more of a taupe/warm grey would work in both spaces though.

Hi guys, we've bought a house off the plans. It's a 4 bed end of terrace in a new Estate. We got to visit our house in a site visit recently and the kitchen is smaller than we expected. It's always hard to visualise space. I've included a plan below. The kitchen is 5m wide and flat against one wall. There are 2 doors for utility and family room in a corner that causes issues for the layout. Ideally we would want an island and a good long dining table. We can't find a way to place both in the space without completely cramping the kitchen. The reason for the island is for additional cabinets and counter space. Another option was for the double doors into the living room to be a solid wall, and for us to extend the kitchen around to the full wall, thereby eliminating the need for an island and allowing plenty of room for a good sized dining table. Another option is to put in a nice large island and moving the dining table into the family room, but it seems odd to be creating a seperate dining room. I would love to hear some of your thoughts on options of keeping the double doors, island and dining table.
