House re-design

Hi, friend looking at buying a house which has a poor layout. Looking at ideas for re-designing it. The front door is west facing so south would be the wall where the "lobby" and "living room" is. The patio is around the other side of the house just now but no door out to it. Views are both all sides really as it is a rural location. The rooms are small. I thought knocking the wall between the living and bed 1 and making that the main living/kitchen area with patio doors out where the window is currently in the "living" room. Then the master bedroom could be where the kitchen is currently and incorporate the ensuite there and the lobby into the master bedroom and block off the external back door there. The living/kitchen area doesnt need 2 entrances into the new open plan area so one could be blocked to give more wall space. Would love your thoughts. I attach the floor plan.

Thanks Jonathandb1972. That looks like a lovely layout I really like the open plan but our driveway around the house will come from the left side so that's why we had thought of addiing the extension to the right. I'm sure we could use your idea on the right side and it would still throw in plenty of light. Regarding the rooms: the long room to the right is the current kitchen which is currently very dark and cold, the small room behind this is the utility, the two rooms to the left of this are a front living room and back lounge. The rooms left of this are 4 bedrooms a bathroom, hotpress and outside toilet. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

Hi minnie101, Thanks so much for your detailed reply. Great to know what colour that grey is. It may be a little dark with our floor. We will definitely update the handles - I hate the current ones. We'll probably go with wood to keep within budget. Your non-tiles pic is lovely. We'll probably keep some tiles and try to keep the kitchen a little more modern than country kitchen, which might be a challenge with wood. The room faces south. I like your idea of dividing it with paint. We probably will go with white in the kitchen and then 1/2 slightly darker tones in the tv-couch area. The 'other' entrance into the dining area is narrowed by a non-structural wall, so we should remove this to open it properly or like you say, close it off. Maybe not close it off entirely as we'd lose a lot of light, but maybe put in a counter or breakfast bar if space allowed. I love your pendant light suggestions over the dining table. Details like this and a rug in the couch area will really help divide the room as at the moment it is one big cavernous space. I really can't decide yet what way the couches should face - into a tv in the corner, or out into the room like you suggest. We'll have to draw out some chalk outlines on the floor and see how much space there actually is. Colour-wise we like the idea of keeping walls and cabinets quite stark, the wood counter will add a bit of warmth, and then adding colour with couches, rugs and possibly dining chairs. I've attached a couple of pieces of furniture I like. Some may not work, but we'll figure it out.

House Exterior re looking - fountain

Hello everyone, Appreciate your support/advice on this one. Renovating to make more appealing and modern a section of my house outdoor where there used to be a waterfall. Planning to replace it with a new like fountain ( not sure if its the right word) but photo attached. Please advise how I can re design that space? Not interested in fish pond. Do note that the new fountain will keep using the same water in a cycle. Fountain purchased, to be places against the wall, but what about all the extra space? Not interested in fish pond.
