Toilet in utility

Currently my downstairs toilet is in the utility room.
Ideally I'd like to keep the toilet but have it boxed in/separate from the rest of the utility space.
The Main door to the bottom is to the side alley - oil boiler etc, side access, which I'd need to keep.
All ideas welcome please.

Could you keep the loo where it is but swap for one with a sink on top and have some form of sliding door to access the utility from the loo?

Are you open to moving the toilet to another part of the house? If so, can you post the plan of the entire floor?

You said you need to keep the door at the bottom of the utility, but could it be moved to the wall on the left?

Thanks @HU-924188966 for your feedback.

I'd like to keep the toilet in this area/room ideally to keep the costs down. Also there's a bathroom at the top of the stairs towards the front of the front of the house so distance/access wise this feels about right.

In terms of moving the door (out to the side of the house) to the other side of the wall, the boiler is just outside, so unfortnately wouldn't work without relocating the boiler.

What I'm actually wondering though is about mixing the metals - so having the chandelier and lamps with the touch of silver - or would I be better to source antique brass lamps like I have in some other rooms in the house - I kind of wanted to feature quite a bit of glass, and generally the glass comes with chrome, but I'm not sure if it's too modern for the sideboard etc, and mores worried about the clash of metals, but something tells me it might be ok in this instance! I have chrome taps and rainfall shower head in new bathroom and kept with antique brass for the light fittings and door/press knobs. Also yes the room is small but that's not an issue - it is what it is and I'm fine with it!

I am back again. I decided against the tile originally proposed as the advice here was totally right, the tile had a strong pink/salmon tone. Thanks so much to everyone. I have been searching again and attached is what I am now thinking of going for. I think this tile is very neutral, should match a lot of colours, is warm and easy to keep. It should also match a modern kitchen. Opinions please!!!

The only way to do this involves moving some cabinets. There is a lot of vertical space available opt 1) remove the upper cabinets near the window. Place the freezer on top of counter. Use the former freezer area to build in shoe cubbies. opt 2) Move the tall pantry cabinet up. Underneath the pantry cabinet, build in shoe cubbies. opt 3) move the freezer up to meet the bottom of the upper cabinets. Put she storage underneath freezer. You'll need to replace the counter with a smaller counter that will be over the washer and dryer only.

Hi all, We are doing a home renovation on our 100 year old house including a new 20sqmsingle storey rear extension. The total floor area will be approx 58sqm. The house is relatively narrow and does not have a downstairs WC We are going back and forth between 3 plans and are really struggling to decide on the best option. We would appreciate any tips/comments/advice on which would be better and why. - We don't want 100% open plan. - We do want to add a toilet. - A utility space is nice, but not a dealbreaker Option A: Split the house front/back and move internal wall. Pro: Lots of glazing, bigger sitting room Con: narrow EC, opens on to kitchen Option B: Split house left/right and open snug with pocket doors. Pro: cheapest, bigger utility/WC, hides awkward staircase overhang Con: small snug, less glazing, awkward room shape Option C: Like option A but with a central WC/Utility space Pro: toilet opens on hall, rectangular kitchen, lots of glazing Con: Smallest kitchen floor area, not as nice a kitchen layout.

Thanks for your comments @hu-924188966. I did wonder about this as the fireplace is faux but wondered if it would be weird to go through the living room space into utility. Definitely food for thought.

@minnie101 I'd never seen the sink over toilet unit. Jumping in the car to see if I can see one IRL at a showroom to see how it would feel. Thank you

The most direct path between the hall and the conservatory is effectively a corridor that is open to the living room, so I don't see why it would be weird to have a door to the utility there. Many people seem to hate having a WC open directly into a diner/living/kitchen, but in this case the utility acts as a buffer.

Otherwise, if you want to keep the existing entrance to the utility/WC space in the conservatory, you could put the WC by the door that leads to the boiler. But then it seems weird to me to have to pass through the WC to go outside, especially if this secondary entry is used a lot (if you like to hang your laundry outside, for example).
