I want to revamp our hallway storage

last month

I don't have pics just now but can add in a few days. We have a pine dresser & sideboard that look dated but provide good storage. How can I update the look?

I painted a couple of dated pine bookcases and they were so much nicer painted. I used Little Green Slaked Lime eggshell paint. Here’s one of them.

What a wonderful hall looks fantastic. For the carpet I would (budget allowing) use chrome or brass stair rods on each stair would look brilliant in there. You could always get an old or cheap console table & paint it yourself in silver or bronze etc.

If you painted the wood skirtings (removed in photos) and door frames, in the dusky blue from the tiles then did the walls in white to bounce light around the hallway as they can be a bit dark I don't think it would look clinical because the use of the blue would add a little drama and look very up to date. Alternatively you could use a deep grey. I haven't seen this done much but when I have it has looked well.

We can't figure out how to use this space efficiently. We have a small hallway and need to find a way to hang our coats, organise our accessories like hats and umbrella, hold the dogs leash and toys, etc. we also have a 4 month baby to consider. the hallway has little natural light so mirrors are necessary. I prefer things to be hidden as much as possible. any ideas on how we can organise this space?
