Bathroom Upgrade

Please can anyone give an insight on what colour would work best for this bathroom to work around this bath. everything else is being completley removed. Taps and fixtures will be changed to gold.

Shower above the bath is going. And separate shower added

This is the main bathroom so it needs to wow.

You guys always have the best ideas :)

I’m a bit confused because you have 2 votes to decide against but neither of the links work. Then in your text you’re asking for advice on colour choice around the bath.

Are you asking for wall tile or emulsion to be painted on the wall colour? If so what is on the floor and is the image your bathroom?

yes it is confusing i was in a rush completing the post. i just added the pictures on the links mainly to be able to activate th question.

so, in regards to the bathroom, i am open to all ideas. tiles, pannelling, etc but would want the bath to be the focal point.

I would love to see how you have decorated for Christmas. I am almost certain there are differences between how our 2 countries do it. Hi. I think the overall look is good. Large tiles do make a room feel bigger as the pattern is less busy however I've seen the hex tiles in small bathrooms and they seem to work as your inspiration pic shows. I would probably lose the flowers though if I'm honest. Do you want the window for light or ventilation? Could a decent extractor be sufficient? I'm thinking that back ŵall could look quite busy. Is there any opportunity to change the layout? Moving soil pipes can be a little costly but could the sink be moved although ideally the loo would be hidden round the corner. You can pick up some great looking vintage or vintage style taps on ebay although unsure if the quality of the repro ones, If the layout can't be changed maybe have a corner loo and ŵall hung trough sink and put some storage in on the rhs as you come through the door depending on how you plan for the shower to open

thanks both & sorry for not getting back sooner. Appreciate it! unfortunately, while lovely, glass panels are going to be too expensive as is upgrading the doors/walls upstairs (realistically we would have to take down all the upstairs walls and start again to make any difference). But thanks. Obviously if we do enclose it will use a glazed door at the base (the rules about the size of landing you need don't seem to be too strict here in Ireland - must have 40 cm from the base step completely free) so we are thinking door at the base of the stairs opening towards the front door. My sister in law however suggests using the entire width between the front door and the stairs as storage, fairly similar to now, but with a door opening out into the kitchen. still thinking. thanks again for your input anyway.

Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. It’s a lovely room as it is. Love the bath colour. The only bit I’m not mad about is the row of brown tiles around the bottom of each wall.

I agree that it is a lovely room. I would just add a wrap around curtain for the shower and a large plant. Both these things would soften the

I think it would be better to post your dilemma after you've updated your bathroom. People seem a little confused.

With a grey Bath and gold fixtures colours like light pink and/or dark green would work well. Maybe have some grey panelling or borders on the walls to complement the Bath as well?
