Comments (10)If you are going to do this - make sure the bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space etc - don't scrimp ! Ideally every woman wants at least double the wardrobe space she already has !! And a walk-in wardrobe / dressing room is something that would earn any developer brownie points !! So if you have the space ... Use it well !! Breakfast areas in morning sunshine work well and evening sun in the lounge is good - inside outside fireplaces can work really well and everybody needs storage for summer /winter stuff (ski /scuba /suitcases etc ) so worth adding in storage somewhere accessible (like utility room ) for that sort of gear too ! This is an awesome opportunity for you ! Have fun !!!...See Morebedroom
Comments (2)Colourwise I would look at apportioning your colours like so… Soft warm grey on the walls. If this is possible, tie in a subtle paper on one wall in similar colour. If a carpet is needed, just a shade down from the walls, to ground it but retain the soft base grey. Small amount of brown in dark wood, on furniture. But try and keep it light. No chunky dark woods. Choose slim legs and profiles. All loose fabrics such as floor length curtains, or roman blinds. Duvet cover, pillow cases, keep white. Accents on trims, cushions and accessories, can be quite flexible here. Could be mustard, or fuschia. But choose one colour that works and stick to it. Then just try to have soft textures in keeping with a cosy bedroom. Looking through to the en-suite. You can expand on you accent colour here, and use that to invite you in. One wall painted fuschia, or statement glass tiles. But you want the view in to be inviting. Try and use that if you can. I hope that helps....See MoreRoom layout - ideas?
Comments (25)Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. (Grab wine and pretend they aren't yours for half an hour! ;-) )...See MoreKK1000
