Comments (5)That is a very nice laundry room that just needs a little texture and color to give it personality. I would paint the walls something like sage green, add some pottery to the open shelves and artwork to the right of the closet or on the wall we cannot see. With your lovely large dog you probably don't want to add a rug, but tile above the counter and a basket or two above or below the cabinets could add additional interest. A green plant on the window ledge would also bring life into the room....See MoreKitchen makeover in progress, need help with flooring and splashback
Comments (8)The builder ought to be ashamed for not cleaning up each night...that is part of what my contractors do...every night. As far as flooring...since the cabinets are on the darker side...use a contrasting flooring in travertine stone. use the largest pieces you can get...usually 18" are good but if you can get 24" that's even better! Put them on the diamond. as far as backsplash use travertine again and bring in the same color as the flooring. Use a touch of contrast in the pattern like a darker liner or a motif of somekind....See MoreColour scheme to go with red sofa and cooker

If you get tired of it, paint them a different color! Saves doing rip out and better for the environment! My floors held up well. I was surprised. I even did a faux marble floor for fun....See MoreSplash back ideas

I realize many will disagee, but i still like a subway in a natural light travertine with cherry cabinets. We have a small horse farm and work in our business seven days a week, so i get what its like not to want high maintenance and to have limited time. We have travertine as our backsplash. Seal it well when its installed and it is very easy to maintain over time. It also doesn't show every spot where things spatter....See Moreleelee
