What a great stove, sink, cabinets, counter & floor. I would remove the low backsplash that is currently up & add a subway tile in a running bond pattern with an accent section above the stove of subway in a chevron pattern outlined with a charcoal pencil trim. Not seeing any color in the room, I would choose a light, bright color such as butter yellow or almost white teal & continue the tile up to the ceiling where you can. Go with either light gray grout or a dark charcoal as you choose.

No to teal, yellow, or any other color here. You already have three colors at play: the white (?) appliance/sink, the black countertops, and the cherry toned wood. As there's already a fair amount of black going on I would match white subway to the same white as the sink - wether it's a warm, blue or yellow white. Choose a matching grout to avoid any pronounced pattern from occurring.

I'm always so surprised when people post pictures of their homes that are, well a real mess. Not that everyone's home doesn't get messy but that you couldn't take 5 minutes and clean it up before you post pictures???

I'm not a huge fan of subway tile but, in your kitchen it would be perfect. Follow Rusty Empire's advice on getting the correct tone of white. AB FAB kitchen - love your cooker!

That was rude leelee. As for the backsplash since everything is fairly neutral I would agree a nice white subway tile would be nice I too would remove the black 4” piece and run the tile up from the counter

I agree that something simple like a subway would work and remain a classic over time. The subway could be a shade of white/off white to match your other whites in the room. I realize many will disagee, but i still like a subway in a natural light travertine with cherry cabinets. We have a small horse farm and work in our business seven days a week, so i get what its like not to want high maintenance and to have limited time. We have travertine as our backsplash. Seal it well when its installed and it is very easy to maintain over time. It also doesn't show every spot where things spatter.
