Kitchen/Dining Room - Wooden or Tile Floor
Comments (4)100% Wood. I actually am installing for the second time wood flooring in my kitchen and dining area in fact the whole first floor. I did the second floor in Brazilian Cherry and just love it so much more than the oak that I currently have. However if I had to choose I would choose the oak floors over tile every time. They wear better look so much prettier. And like the previous poster pointed out I hate dirty grout lines....See MoreWood & tile floor transition
Comments (7)With the shape of the room and where you want to place the furniture there really isn’t a good place for a floor change. If you are dead set against wood flooring in the kitchen but like the look why not install wood look porcelain tiles. This might just be the answer you are looking for. They come in many different shades, colors and styles. Beautiful!...See MoreLaminate wood flooring throughout? Yes or no
Comments (9)Hi Cherry, we went with the laminate throughout the house and it turned out absolutely stunning. To be honest it's such good quality I don't think of it as laminate and everyone who visits thinks it's solid wood. It won't look like laminate if it's a good quality brand and you use a thick underlay. Using it throughout the house makes the rooms flow and makes the spaces feel bigger. It's also really easy to maintain unlike shiny glossy tiles! Good luck!...See MoreWood effect tiled floor

However, for your whole house you might want to think about the fact that they won't have the soft/warm feeling of real wood. They will sound like tile when people walk on them (loud footsteps when shoes are on), they are hard like tile, they are cold like tile (when the heat is off) and they will be echo-ey like tile....See MoreAnn
