Comments (11)I agree with everything said so far. Would suggest you get built in book shelvers on both sides of fireplace, lift tv into a slot it fits perfectly into (make sure you have power on both sides). Then it will disappear more rather than fight with fireplace as focal point. I am always disappointed with mirrors over fireplaces, they become dark, are to high to reflect much. Plus then you have three rectangles fighting for center stage. I'd say very colorful artwork instead. Wonder if you can reorient tv where the big chairs are so both tv and fireplace are addressed? Color, maybe you should decide on furniture first?...See Moreneed help to decorate my living/lounge area in cream
Comments (4)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.GuigsART.co.uK...See MoreNeed Help with long sitting room.
Comments (4)I'd put another set of sliding doors between the lounge and the playroom rather than a solid wall. Reason being is that it gives you more options. You get to sequester the mess and noise when you want and you still get a good flow later on when the kidlets aren't such mess monsters. I'd make both sets of sliding doors have full-length frosted glass inserts. That will let in the light. Or you could use shoji doors if that suits the decor better. From your plan, I'm assuming the house is semi-detached, so windows on the right wall aren't possible? Also, you might consider a pocket door from the hallway to the lounge and from the hallway to the utility room. That way you don't have to allow space for door swing....See MoreLooking for help choosing colours for a living room and dining room.
Comments (0)Hi, We recently moved into a new home and we're redecorating two adjoining rooms. It's myself and my wife at the moment, and in around 6 weeks there'll be a little one joining us :) Here's an album of the two rooms with a floor plan https://photos.app.goo.gl/w4d77HhJhGxuUdGt9 I've arranged to get the floors refinished over the next few weeks (once our 'lock-down' is over!). The room without the TV will be a dining room/office combo, it's south-facing. Generally, they are quite bright when all doors and blinds are open, but the windows are not huge so there aren't awash with light all the time. We're having real trouble deciding on a colour scheme. Could anybody offer any inspiration? For the furniture, the main thing we plan on keeping is the sofa, the rest is likely to be changed. Thanks!...See Morejbantick
