“David worked on our house renovation from Jan-Jul 2016. We found him to be personable, accessible, opinionated (in a good way) and committed to delivering a project that works well and is beautiful. During the design of our house, David worked through three iterations of drawings until he and we agreed a plan. David gained a good understanding of what we needed and incorporated our needs into the plans. David helped us to recruit a very good builder. During the build it was invaluable having David around to ensure building was being done in accordance with national safety standards but also to negotiate with the builder how certain work should be done e.g. David insisted on RSJs being recessed, had strong opinions on the height of the extension, and the positioning of a roof light to achieve maximum light and aesthetic appeal. David was a great help in telling us where to source materials in particular the door but also floors, the kitchen and bathroom furniture. He renovates houses all the time so if you know what you want, he can tell you where to get it. David is really interested in producing beautiful work so he's a great person to have in your corner and is always a pleasure to deal with. We recommend highly.”

“People say that building a house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they were not wrong. We 'survived' our house build and now we can safely say that Emmett and Fingal Planning consultants was one of the very few people that gave us consistent and sound advice/service. Our build was very complicated due to many factors, but chiefly the type of the house, a low-energy "passive house"-style, the location and having several contractors involved posed the greatest challenges. Emmett guided us through the process in his trademark no-nonsense approach and we were very lucky to have him when trying to manage all the stakeholders that a build inevitably has, like authorities, contractors, neighbours and so on. During the rough patches of the project, he always stuck by his word and actually did more than he originally signed up for. When Emmett says he will do something he does it; he is open, honest, and little ruffles his feathers - a much needed attribute when emotions are high and money is low! Vincent's ability to chose the "right look" and follow through on the execution of this bespoke build is amazing. “I took proud ownership of my new extension to my house this morning and would like to thank JEA for putting up with all my questions and changes I made throughout the project. Their patience and service is top quality and the finished product far exceeds my original ideas. “When we approached David from Dublin Design Studio in 2011 he was faced with the difficult task of meeting the living requirements of our large family comprising of teenagers and young adults. With this project he did not disappoint. David made the process of a difficult planing application easy and with a given time frame of 2 years and a hope of being settled in for Christmas 2012. We were very pleased to have moved in on the 18th of December 2012. He worked very closely with the building contractor, DC Building & Energy Services to complete a project involving the demolition of an old dwelling and the design and new build of a fabulous contemporary Eco. build comprising of 5,500 sq ft living accommodation. It was a great opportunity and a very enjoyable project to work with such fabulous professionals in their fields. Sandra Salveta”

“In 2012 the living space in our home was dark and cluttered. The conservatory, a misnomer, was unusable , poorly designed, subject to extremes of heat and cold and the odd leakage. I had a budget and had to stick to it. I retained Robert Bourke as architect. From the off he had refreshing ideas . He prepared plans and tendered for builders , with time we got a reliable builder at the right price . This is not a fairy tale ! Roberts designs worked with the house and the budget. The removal of a useless door; the realignment of the living area; turning the conservatory into a room where we could dine at Christmas; opening up the kitchen all great but the real JEWEL was in bringing light into the living area . This was achieved by putting in two interior windows . At first I was sceptical but the effect was amazing. We have light and space all year round . Nearly three years on , showing signs of living, it has retained its magic !”
