Inspired by the desire to connect the cozy contemporary interior with the natural desert landscape, this project created an inviting outdoor kitchen and pool area. With split-faced limestone cladding, a gray-toned countertop, and large-format vein-cut limestone pavers, the design seamlessly bridged the indoor and outdoor spaces. Windowed cutouts on the feature wall framed picturesque sunsets, offering an open feel while ensuring privacy. Through innovative design elements and careful material selection, this desert oasis surpassed expectations, providing unforgettable moments of outdoor dining and relaxation in a harmonious and stylish setting.

For more than 30 years, Simon Taylor Furniture has been designing and making premium bespoke furniture for every room in the home - and also the garden. This Cantilever Outdoor Kitchen is made from Bianca Eclipsia quartz, a very pale grey stone with a marbled effect that has strong resistance to heat and cold; ideal for outdoor use. The kitchen features a dramatic modern cantilever design which includes a 2.8 metre floating worksurface with no leg supports or end panels. It is attached to a bespoke slim island unit made using the same stone, which incorporates a flush-mounted BBQ, suitable for gas or coal grilling. Larger versions of the island can also incorporate stainless steel ice storage, Wi-Fi LED smart lighting, 240v outdoor sockets, a wireless speaker system and portable phone charging sockets. Simon Taylor Furniture also makes bespoke solid roof or gazebo structures, which can include 3kW ceiling mounted heaters, so that the outdoor kitchen can be used all year round. The garden space faces North so gets morning sun then mostly in the shade. In the summer especially it is lovely to sit here have breakfast and later in the day under the large Sugar Maple a cool spot to relax and grill. I am asked all the time are there any shade plants to use! as you can see the garden is constantly changing from spring bulbs and spring flowers to summer and fall color. The gravel terrace provides a simple and affordable surface and very European.
