A blend of native grasses and wildflowers looks great and transitions into the surrounding open space. In addition to looking great, this area is low maintenance and water friendly.

This outdoor living space includes; a rectangular swimming pool, putting green, and Hot Springs spa. The patio is Techo-Bloc Blu pavers with natural fieldstone walls. Landscaping and boulders complement the space and a wood burning fire pit serves as a focal point. We turned this pedestrian Leaside backyard upside down! We added a stone patio complete with a firepit and lounge area which is covered by giant umbrella. A custom rough hewn beam pergola was painted black to contrast the custom stainless steel shoes and connector plates and placed over the new dining area and custom buffet. The buffet has a Corten steel decorative panel behind with white plexiglass and lighting for a dramatic dining experience. Horizontal fencing surrounds the backyard and the style carries through to both gates. Natural stone steppingstones and borders add contrast and frame the different sections of the yard. Playful informal plantings give the garden a sense of whimsy. The back porch was created for barbecuing with glass railings to not disturb the view from inside the home and contains a large storage space underneath.

Our beautiful river side cabin in the north georgia mountains. We are using our rental income to do small project to update the home. Our first attempt was the fire pit area and we just completed a guest bathroom renovation.

We designed: a new expanded dining patio with a custom pergola to give dappled shade; a nearby water feature burbling sweetly; a sunken lounge surrounded by gardens and trees for privacy; a sweet vine-covered arbor with a swinging bench for morning coffee and afternoon reading. The birds will have a new location for their house/feeder close to habitat and cover- including a Japanese water fountain to bathe in and drink. The sunken lounge will feature a firepit and luxury seating, all under watch of the Garden Buddha featured against a bamboo wall. Design/Photo, Gigi

This terraced landscape in Vermont flows from a high perch on a contemporary home’s second story viewing deck through a grassy play space with a fire pit terrace, past mown fields to a swimming pond with “Lake House" and on through a wet meadow to a beaver pond beyond. Here behind the house, four Adirondack chairs are gathered around a fire pit terrace of Goshen stone. Low shrubs and colorful perennials hug the top of a retaining wall that drops off toward a view of the pond and beaver meadow in the distance. A number of trees from the property were thoughtfully culled, giving space to some of the largest and most beautiful, to preserve animal habitat and frame views. Photo by Susan Teare.

A spardust path makes for easy transport back to the campground. Our client’s replica 1961 Shasta camper provides an authentic camp experience, along with colorful chairs and picnic table. . The fire pit is surrounded by rustic log benches fashioned from spruce trunks from the old patio.
