Living Room with Brown Floors Ideas and Designs

Reimagining a Grade II Listed Gatehouse on Haslemere’s Lythe Hill Park Estate, balancing historic lineage and simple country living with a contemporary approach, we worked proactively with the Planning Heritage Team and positive, open minded clients to sensitively extend and retain the original character of the Gatehouse.

On the other side of the wing-shaped room, a corner was created by the fireplace where you can enjoy the lovely view of the golf course below.

The clients of this luxury residence tasked Atelier Interior Design to create a space that balances sophistication and elegance whilst also being suitable for a young and energetic family. Our lighting makes several appearances throughout this refined, yet comfortable interior.

The snug is directly connected to the kitchen and designed as an open, kid-friendly space. We used the owners’ sofa here so accidental spills wouldn’t cause a major issue. To future-proof the space, we introduced two fireplace alcoves creating useful games storage, with a small bar area for entertaining.

A relaxed yet sophisticated sitting room centred around a bespoke footstool with distinctive bobble legs, introducing a playful sculptural element. A generous green rug anchors the seating arrangement, adding warmth, texture, and a rich layer of colour that complements the natural palette.

The living area combines a sophisticated neutral palette of earthy tones with dark wood and antique brass accents, complemented by contemporary décor and reeded wall panels within bespoke built-in shelving units for a modern-classic look.
