This characterful home in Saltford had been loved, but had a very confused floor plan and was not suited to modern life (nor with practicalities in mind!).
We bought it bang up to date with a design to adapt the home for modern living. We provided 4 bedrooms over three floors with master suite, separate utility room and ground floor bathroom all within the shell of an 18th century cottage.
The client's budget did not allow all the work to happen at once, but we carefully designed the layout to allow work to be phased. This still enabled the clients to complete the first phase, move in and live there while the second phase was completed.
The result, a fabulous home designed to last the family for decades, all while still retaining the best and more characterful features.

CCASA ArchitectsThe existing roof was converted into the master suite, with a generous bedroom, a spacious en-suite bathroom and a small terrace. The mansard roof design allowed for inclined walls that were straighten up to allow for additional storage.
Emil Eve ArchitectsA sensitive remodelling of a Victorian warehouse apartment in Clerkenwell. The design juxtaposes historic texture with contemporary interventions to create a rich and layered dwelling.
Our clients' brief was to reimagine the apartment as a warm, inviting home while retaining the industrial character of the building.
We responded by creating a series of contemporary interventions that are distinct from the existing building fabric. Each intervention contains a new domestic room: library, dressing room, bathroom, ensuite and pantry. These spaces are conceived as independent elements, lined with bespoke timber joinery and ceramic tiling to create a distinctive atmosphere and identity to each.
The Myers TouchThe layout follows a wide L shape with a central island which is wide enough to house both the hob and the sink. The Miele induction hob includes an integrated extraction which allows the client a seamless view across the island and out to their wonderful farmland vista. A Neolith Bromo worktop provides both beauty and durability, making use and cleaning of this kitchen a dream. Hidden within a bank of tall cabinetry lies a large walk-in larder space, perfect for storage of everyday items, or for keeping pre-made party food a secret! The dark SieMatic cabinets in Onyx oak laminate create drama and visual strength in this large open-plan space, whilst a soft sterling grey finish was chosen for the island and console cabinets to bring warmth and light into the central area.

When our client from Wendover approached us to re-design their kitchen, they wanted something sleek and sophisticated but also comfortable and warm. We knew just what to do — design and build a contemporary yet cosy kitchen.
This space is about clean, sleek lines. We've chosen Hacker Systemat cabinetry — sleek and sophisticated — in the colours Black and Oak. A touch of warm wood enhances the black units in the form of oak shelves and backsplash. The wooden accents also perfectly match the exposed ceiling trusses, creating a cohesive space.
This modern, inviting space opens up to the garden through glass folding doors, allowing a seamless transition between indoors and out. The area has ample lighting from the garden coming through the glass doors, while the under-cabinet lighting adds to the overall ambience.
The island is built with two types of worksurface: Dekton Laurent (a striking dark surface with gold veins) for cooking and Corian Designer White for eating. Lastly, the space is furnished with black Siemens appliances, which fit perfectly into the dark colour palette of the space.
CARVAJALWell, we chose to go wild in this room which was all designed around the sink that was found in a lea market in Baku, Azerbaijan.
