White Sands Coastal DevelopmentWe remodeled this 5,400-square foot, 3-story home on ’s Second Street to give it a more current feel, with cleaner lines and textures. The result is more and less Old World Europe, which is exactly what we were going for. We worked with much of the client’s existing furniture, which has a southern flavor, compliments of its former South Carolina home. This was an additional challenge, because we had to integrate a variety of influences in an intentional and cohesive way.
We painted nearly every surface white in the 5-bed, 6-bath home, and added light-colored window treatments, which brightened and opened the space. Additionally, we replaced all the light fixtures for a more integrated aesthetic. Well-selected accessories help pull the space together, infusing a consistent sense of peace and comfort.
Purple Cherry ArchitectsIn the great room, special attention was paid to the ceiling detail, where square box beams “picture frame” painted wooden planks, creating interest and subtle contrast. A custom built-in flanks the right side of the fireplace and includes a television cabinet as well as wood storage.
SHELLEY RODNER DESIGN / DDIThe client had requested a quiet place in their vacation home to relax, read and recharge. She wanted it to serve as a personal little 'getaway' space but allow her to still feel connected with family and guests.
A small loft area that was the 'gateway' between the client's main living area on the second floor and the bedrooms on the third floor was the perfect solution.
With an overall footprint of 6' 6" x 7' this tiny space required pieces with just the right scale and proper function.

Clear Home Designin this open floor plan, a half level above the main great room is a true tv room complete with a half moon window from which to see the ocean beyond. walls are painted a lime green and the sectional upholstered in a sky blue. floor is covered in seagrass and furniture is remiscent of the mid century age. rosewood and white lacquer media console bookended by the iconic floor lamp. swivel chair is upholstered in lime green velvet while the cube ottomans are done in a true ageatic blue velvet.
B Designs Interior'sI know I shouldn't do this because we're not done and the drapes haven't even arrived, but I'm spitting into the wind with these dramatic before and after's. Here we've changed the wall paint from a "dull", pale gray to bright Ivory. "Gray's" not for everyone and from the moment Deanna painted it, she told me she immediately regretted it, but didn't have a solution. We then added built in's under the windows that flank the FP. With some help from, "Hippos" we moved the TV over the FP and changed out the carpet, replaced the dreary and tired upholstery with two new and much larger, Beige sofas with cheerful pillows in Deannas favorite color combinations and well, of course those fabulous Roman Shades! We will be adding the drapes (as soon as they arrive) a new coffee table and end/occasional tables. Even so, it's a huge improvement and now such a cheerful space.
