Redesigning a small kitchen in tourist apartment.
Comments (4)I do not have picture of space but the feet and inches are as follows. 78.5 inches wall which should incorporate fridge freezer with boiler on top. This space meets the door and I think the high object would look best in that position. There is a window in centre of this space which I propose putting cupboards over to have extra storage space. I will create extra light to replace window light over the adjoining door. The other wall is 86.5". this wall meets the lounge/dining area with patio door off to terrace. My concern is worktop space, I thought this end might best incorporate the cooker with microwave overhead. I would be most grateful for your help. Regards Teresagolf...See MoreDIY SOS!!
Comments (11)OK then I think you might have to work asymmetrically. Instead of many cupboard doors, over your boiler, have one door placed over it with a push in push out system to open it. This will create a smooth "wall" - paint this and the wall above the brick area cream and the brick below grey.I would then change the cabinet on the other side so that you use cream with a grey counter and even grey shelves...Could this work better?More photos would certainly help? Comments (1)I'd be happy to help you with your design if you'd like. A 106cm table is on the small side. However, if there is only two of you and you don't expect any guests this should suffice. Email me your measurements of the space and I'd be happy to create a layout for you. kerrybryaninteriors@outlook.com Kerry...See MoreSliding door cupboard in a Shaker kitchen?
Comments (0)Hi, I am changing the shape of my kitchen to a U shape to maximise storage. I am hoping to put my utility machines and wall boiler behind sliding doors as pictured. This would also enclose the small window which only looks into my neighbour's kitchen! It was originally designed as a utility room so the window was never meant to be in the kitchen. Would this work in a Shaker kitchen? I will be getting Shaker presses in cashmere and the sliding doors would be in the same painted wood. The chrome surround of the sliding doors would match the chrome handles of the kitchen presses. The sliding doors would have a window next to it with presses underneath before the next tall unit starts so maybe that would visually separate the two styles? (The island will be gone and the fridge integrated). Bit worried it might look too contemporary in a Shaker kitchen. Any advice appreciated!...See Morerach1922
