I built a lot of homes and many renovations. The vast majority has been white windows inside and out. We built homes with black exterior which look very good. We also had homes with stained wood and wood vinyl on the interior. I got to say the window looses its presence this way. It kind of blends in too much and looks bland. Many other customers have agreed with this.

We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful. We also can supply Grey windows, not in 50 shades, but in 3, so you can have from light to dark. Anything else just ask. Regards Joe

I think I would paint them in a taupe-grey. Other ideas. Paint the doorframe and door window trim the same color as the door to make it look larger. Paint the house numbers black. Put bright lighting by the door.

I want to make a new ope for a new window (or more technically a 'light' as I don't want it to open) in a really dark and dingy room that will hopefully brighten it up. I know the kind of Carlson window I need to align with the other there in the room already. But where will I find a builder who would do this kind of small job? Does anyone know a good and reliable builder to knock a hole in the wall make good once the window is installed? Perhaps Carlson do the whole service but I doubt it. Thanks for any advice and recommendations.
