Grey windows what colour front door advice please

I'm looking to get new windows. I've a red brick house 3 bed semi detached. Have decided on grey windows but wondering would I get a grey front door? Bearing in mind most of the downstairs of my house is white walls, white internal doors, white gloss kitchen, grey feature walls in kitchen and sitting room. Hall is white walls and white staircase and flooring throughout is dark walnut. Could I go black or white with hall door or a completely different colour? Thanks

Hi,

no problem at all to have a grey front door and white internal doors. There's another option which is to paint the outside face (of the front door) in grey and the inside face in white.

Firstly -- what a lovely home! The classical styling is very nice. Regarding the door color vs. trim color -- how dark the tones are compared to each other is the first thing to consider in this case. If the tones are similar, it may look very coordinated. In other words, I would prefer a charcoal along with a medium / dark blue. Compare different tones to see what works best for you. The second thing I would consider is the undertone of the grey. It will look one way at your kitchen table in planning stages and another way entirely next to the yellow of the house and the blue of the door. If you can determine the undertone of the grey -- great! That may help you to choose the type of blue to work with. If you still are having troubles after that, consider a blue with some grey in it. Have a lovely time of it. Color is a great thing to play with.

Just wanted to add something regarding the steps since I had also asked for advice on them: we had steps installed in slate, but unfortunately they did not turn out to look very nice, so will need to get redone . Was wondering if we should also incorporate some of the bricks seen on the porch, perhaps as risers covered by blue limestone or slate just to tie everything together?

What compass direction is your door facing when looking outside from it? What material and colour is your floor?

Don't be afraid to go for a colourful front door! While grey is a very safe option the addition of a good bold colour can really breath life into the exterior of your house.

These are the best low maintenance front doors you can get with lots of options on colours, inside and out. We are one of their installers in Colchester and have four on display, if we are near enough pop in, if not just find a local installer. if you are after timber we supply Bereco, again go to their website, not cheap but beautiful.

We also can supply Grey windows, not in 50 shades, but in 3, so you can have from light to dark.

Anything else just ask.
