Reconfiguring the bathroom won't give you enough space for another bedroom. It's small already and you need an external wall for a window in a bedroom. Use the bedroom recess for storage or to make the bathroom bigger.

Agree with Sarah. You also need access to a second bedroom and walking through one to access another is not smart. Passages and hallways eat up space which is not available. The bedroom is not huge and creating a second would create two box rooms.

I think it actually depends on how much you're will to change the layout - some friends changed the configuration of the stairs of their cottage (swapped around and turning) so that it'd land with a double room on one side and a box room on the other with the bathroom in-between

Normally only part of a full renovation. You turn the stairs round, eliminating the need for a corridor landing. Install a bulkhead bathroom in the centre, mechanically lit and ventilated and you have similar sized bedrooms at each end.
