Accent colour for duck egg bedroom.

I have this duvet cover for my bed, the walls are slightly darker than the image ; I have two windows with solid duck egg curtains . My woodwork including bed is oak. What would you advise to finish the room - colours to lift, additions in furniture. I can't change the bed, but I can change bedside lockers, add a chair etc just need help with colour suggestions.

I definitely think some colour on the walls would look great with your monochrome curtains and furniture. I would suggest a relatively soft colour, maybe a duck egg or greyish green colour, nothing too vibrant that will battle with the bold monochrome! I'd paint white the TV wall in oder to make it visually higher and to hide the white color of the door, now the dark color under lines that it is rather low and different from two main doors color and height of third one. I like brown FP wall, it works good with sofas and will attract eyes visually raising the ceiling above TV furniture. And one more thing I'd think about: the 1-st photo shows that there are too much unconnected different heights (doors, mirror, TV furniture, FP wall, ceiling). Definitely some heights are needed to be connected. I'd put lower the mirror and the shelf above FP so that the TV furniture and the mirror up lines were the same height. To bring more colors into the room as it was mentioned above I'd pick up some colors from the art work for cushions and curtains.

As the rest of your house is decorated in muted colours with the exception of the bathroom), I would stick with that. Duck egg/pale blues and pale greens or chalky pink would be very restful for bedrooms. Or navy blue looks smart with a neutral scheme.

I would make all the drapes floor length, I love the bedding and you could add a soft yellow to the mix for an accent as for furniture I need a better pic of the whole room to help with that something like the yellow in the pillows would be nice.

Thanks Patricia - I like the lemon. Would navy work do you think? I really don't want the room becoming too - pastel or feminine. As for furniture -literally the bed is all in the room and the bedside tables. A walk in robe is adjacent so any other furniture can be added for fun as opposed to function. I may add a window seat
