We know we want raised flowerbeds to embed flush into the patio with grey stone slabs. Husband wants them to be built in brick matching the extension on the left. I would prefer a tile as brick may look too much.
As your home is a contemporary style I would go with pale paving, such as honed sandstone or porcelain. The red brick has a more traditional, cottage feel and can be a bit heavy looking. What exactly would you use to retain the flowerbeds if not bricks. You can’t really use paving as an upright, but you can use sandstone, or concrete, bricks to give a more unified look. Or render it, but that can have maintenance issues.
