Hi, I am looking for very shiny metallic gold WALL paint. All of the ones I am finding either look flat or orange or yellow or brown. I want the wall to look like actual shiny gold metal. Any ideas please? Thank you
Here are some suggestions for UK brands and options to achieve that dazzling, true gold wall:
1. High-Shine Metallic Paints:
Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint - Pure Gold: This spray paint boasts a brilliant, reflective finish resembling polished gold metal. It's suitable for various surfaces and offers good durability.
Zinsser All Surface Metallic Paint - Brilliant Gold: This acrylic paint can be brushed or rolled onto walls and provides a high-shine, reflective finish with a hint of warmth.
Hammerite Direct to Rust Metallic Gold: This paint has a hammered finish, which adds texture and depth to the gold, creating a luxurious, antique gold look. It's also ideal for rusty metal surfaces.
2. Layering for Extra Shine:
Base coat: Use a reflective silver or white base coat before applying the gold paint. This helps amplify the reflective qualities and enhances the shine.
Clear coat: After applying the gold paint, add a clear coat with a glossy finish. This will further protect the paint and boost the mirror-like shine.
3. Specialty Brands:
Green Stuff World Metallic Paint - Shiny Gold: This acrylic paint is specifically designed for miniatures and models but works well on walls too. It delivers a highly defined, crisp metallic effect with exceptional shine.
DecoArt Americana Extreme Sheen - Champagne Gold: This acrylic paint has a pearlescent sheen that gives off a subtle, glowing gold effect, perfect for a softer, elegant look.
Additional Tips:
Sample pots: Purchase small sample pots to test different brands and shades before committing to a large quantity.
Lighting: Good lighting plays a crucial role in highlighting the shine of the paint. Consider adding spotlights or strategically placed lamps to enhance the effect.
Preparation: Proper surface preparation is key for a smooth, even finish. Ensure the wall is clean, dry, and free of any imperfections.
Remember: Different gold shades have varying undertones. Choose a shade that complements your overall design and desired ambiance. Warm golds tend to feel inviting, while cool golds offer a more modern vibe.
I hope these suggestions help you find the perfect shiny metallic gold paint for your wall!
