Dining room colour/design

We’ve just had some bifolds put in yesterday and now we’re really unsure what to do with the room. I want to inject some colour into the room but not quite sure what to go with. Also we want to replace the table and the light but unsure whether to go with spotlights and a feature piece above the table? Please help!
I’ve attached some pictures (please excuse the mess) we’re also in the middle of ripping our garden up!! 😳

It appears to be a dark room. Lightening it up may satisfy your husband. No real reason every room in your house has to be grey; however if that is what your prefer....... Wallpaper maybe a very good choice for this room - a print with gray in it as well as white & pops of other colour to lighten & brighten the room. Changing the light fixture to something brighter & lighter looking would also do a lot to lighten up the balance of the room. 100% Wood. I actually am installing for the second time wood flooring in my kitchen and dining area in fact the whole first floor. I did the second floor in Brazilian Cherry and just love it so much more than the oak that I currently have. However if I had to choose I would choose the oak floors over tile every time. They wear better look so much prettier. And like the previous poster pointed out I hate dirty grout lines.

I would definitely go for a larger kitchen therefore a swap. Also if structure allows to remove this little bit of unnecessary wall by current kitchen entrance would make the space more open.( I think in the other plan I see it is happening?) the outside door swap for a window is a very good idea in my mind.
