I would consider rendering the front, it's single storey and shouldn't cost too much. With a new roof and render it would really lighten it up. You would then have options for the windows such as a mid toned warmer grey. We part rendered both the front and back of our house and ita made a big difference to reducing the 'visual' weight.

Thanks for the comment. My original plan was to render the front but the planners wouldn’t let me. Unfortunately I have to keep the brickwork.

I have seen a lot of red brick homes with anthracite/grey windows and l think they suit.

I agree that anthracite works well with red brick. Oak door and porch would add warmth and stop it from being too overbearing. A low hedge of a white flowering shrub or a line of white hydrangeas would also lighten things up.

Personally I think dark windows will disappear against the brick and I think that house will have more character with pale windows- I would rather see white.

Separately has one of the images distorted? The architects drawing doesn’t look as wide as the picture of the house

Another thought, if the windows are going to be 'beautiful' then pale is good. If not, then as Joanathan says, dark will make them disappear. Anthracite is an option but a dark with the tineiest hint of blue can also work.

Don't know if this will help as it comes down to personal preference.  We have replaced our old white windows for pale grey.  I felt anthracite would be too dark for the brick colour and thought it would drained the life out of the house.  We are very happy with the pale grey, it lifts the look stylishly but is more subtle than bright white.  This photo was mid job so two new grey windows with old white one for comparison.
