What colour should I pick for my window frames?

We're building a house with 2, two-story blocks. One block will have a traditional Irish barn red corrugated roof, the other block will have slates. The windows are simple rectangles with no bars, but i'm not sure what colour to make them. I've always wanted a pale blue house with white windows, but think it would be wrong against the red barn. My husband wants to make all the windows red. I'm not sure. Any ideas please? White windows, or Red, or white on one bit and red on the other? Thanks BB
