Design Dilemma Dining Rooms Windows

bifold window manufacturers

Which are the most reputable manufacturers of bifold windows? Anyone have any experience? (ID systems/Origin global/other?) We are at early stage of planning renovation of 3 bed semi, looking for combination of bifold doors and bifold windows.. Any help greatly appreciated.

I think you're right to change your plans tbh, I think pic 1 and 3 would work. Another option is a suspended woodburner. It's obviously not a divide but it gives you the break in the ceiling so acts as one. The first one attached is from fireplaceproductsUK. The other 2 are just images from leotrippi and homedesignht to show how they can act to divide a room. A much more expensive option is a glass fireplace, this is from acucraft fireplaces. I'm not sure how easy it is to find UK manufacturers/suppliers though. Alternatively you can just break the room with furniture layout and ceiling lights. The lights if hung properly ie at differing heights, clusters etc along with floor lamps will stop that cavernous feel. I can't obviously see the plan but if you're really set on a divide, and they are great!, you could set it off a side wall rather than down the centre of the room.

Hi there Victoria, Crittall windows are originally by Crittall Windows Limited, who can be found on Houzz. However, I believe they're located in Essex, UK, but you can always track down a local supplier by clicking "Find Pros" on the banner at the top of the page and searching for Crittall. A few things I would change from experience...instead of a single and double door I would spend the extra money and put in a bifold corner section...would open up the space so much more. as for the kitchen...completely flip your design...put your breakfast bar closer to the window...make it large and multipurpose with the hob in it and then put your main band of cabinets either left, right or behind? We have recently restructured our existing cabinets to this layout and put in new countertops and it works far better than before!

BEFORE AFTER This is a Victorian terrace that was purchased in a poor state and needed a full refurbishment to improve the energy rating for cosiness and thermal efficiency, as much as the aesthetics for comfort and beauty in the home. Timeless Sash Windows were delighted to be commissioned to work on all the original old timber sash windows in the property – reapiring or replacing the sashes where necessary and renovating the frames in situ. Here are some images of the property as it was before the renovations began: To maintain the heritage of the property and the area, we keep the original designs of the timber sashes combined with the latest techniques in the manufacture of timber windows. The owners chose to paint the windows RAL 9016 white inside, to brighten the rooms, yet have a modern and fashionable look outside by painting with Farrow & Ball ‘Railings’.
