Knocked walls for light - have we got it right?

Hi, we are planning a renovation for our downstairs. We want to make best use of our existing space without extending. We have 2 toddlers so a big family/ kitchen space is key, as well as a downstairs bathroom.
Love to hear any feedback/ problems on our draft plan. We haven't engaged any professionals as of yet.

I agree deepen the color, don't change it and yes art art art! maybe lessen the presence of the brick with the earlier suggestion of the metal cogs its and use traditional artwork pics/nature/paintings on the painted wall. I also like the idea to paint the part of the wall that juts out in a darker shade of the same color. Now you have lots to consider and lots to dismiss as well. Good luck and have fun

Hi---ok, so you have some different styles going on, but I think it could come together-just needs some balance with color, pattern, and a touch of whimsy... :) The wallpaper (w/owl) is a good color to incorporate into the space-works well with the sectional, dining table, and floor. The art pulls the color palette together, is contemporary with organic/circular shapes---relates to both the sectional and table designs. Pillows-masculine and feminine balanced-color palette repeated. Check BM's Seattle Mist and Brushed Aluminum for wall color. Hope this is helpful. What a lovely, clean space. A beautiful oversized painting would add so much to it--something to look at while you're cooking or dining. An abstract landscape that ties into your outdoors is one possibility or a painting with a food related theme. Large vintage posters can look great in a kitchen. Then add a piece of pottery on your counter in one of the colors from the painting.
