My fireplace is off-centre on the chimney breast as the adjoining house shares the same chimney breast.I want solutions to give the room an updated feel. The only one suggested is that I extend the chimney breast using a false wall so that the fireplace is centred in the room but this takes a further metre from the room space and gives an enormous chimney breast relative to the room size.

A few things I would change from experience...instead of a single and double door I would spend the extra money and put in a bifold corner section...would open up the space so much more. as for the kitchen...completely flip your design...put your breakfast bar closer to the window...make it large and multipurpose with the hob in it and then put your main band of cabinets either left, right or behind? We have recently restructured our existing cabinets to this layout and put in new countertops and it works far better than before!

Hi all, We are in the process of renovating a 1980's two storey house. I'm looking at the large living room at the moment, the chimney breast has been blocked and we plan to break it back out and add a stove. See pictures of the room as is below: Room Size: The chimney breast is very wide and quite shallow so I am not sure how best to finish it without the stove looking lost.... We will be putting down new white skirting and architraves. Going with dark walnut wood flooring. Some styles we've been looking at: Any thoughts what would work here?

Hi all, Thanks to a chimney flute and my want for a king size bed I have a little dilemma. What style bedside cabinet would go either side if the bed? Has anyone a similar dilemma with an awkward shaped room? I’m leaning towards a bedside table on the left side and maybe a matching console table to go at the chimney wall. Open to suggestions though!
