Which way would you have sliders open ?

Hi we are having sliding doors in new master bedroom, one panel is fixed and the other slides and having a dilemmas which way should slide. Here is elevation and bedroom plan with direction that was going to go for :

So looking from back/top the right pane would be fixed with left opening, just wandered if better to have it the other way so when in bed would have opening near me in the morning with view out over the garden less restricted, also not sure if creating a wind corridor as the door into bedroom is in direct line with open slider if have it as planned. Just might feel a bit strange the other way round - what do people think ? Any help greatly appreciated.

I’d probably have the fixed section closest to the bed to avoid being in a draught! But I do like the idea of the unrestricted view from the bed. But I think for me I’d avoid the draughts. Angie

I agree with everything said so far. Would suggest you get built in book shelvers on both sides of fireplace, lift tv into a slot it fits perfectly into (make sure you have power on both sides). Then it will disappear more rather than fight with fireplace as focal point. I am always disappointed with mirrors over fireplaces, they become dark, are to high to reflect much. Plus then you have three rectangles fighting for center stage. I'd say very colorful artwork instead. Wonder if you can reorient tv where the big chairs are so both tv and fireplace are addressed? Color, maybe you should decide on furniture first?

I would go with what the architect suggested. That was my immediate thought and also means that you will get light into your living area all day since the kitchen would be at the front and the living room at the back. It will be a nicer space to live in. If you really can't face bedrooms at the front though could you do something like this? It clearly isn't to scale!! You probably sacrifice a bit of space in that smallest bedroom but gain much more liveable floor space at the front of the house. It also gives your husband the open pan area he likes. It does sacrifice a separate entrance way though. I'd also shift the bathroom wall out and steal some space from the utility room so that you have a larger bathroom.

I would ordinarily recommend that you don't mix cream/ivory with white as they can often clash, but you have pulled it off with the worktops! bringing in more white in the form of the glossy table will only enhance the look you have already created. the only other option would be a glass table with white chairs or stick with the accent colour of subtle grey for the chairs.

Hi there, How about a very pale blue? I know it's for both a boy and girl but pale blue goes well with pink. If you get a bunk bed which can be split into single beds, then on the girl side you could place metallic gold stickers on the wall or pale pink and on the boys dark blue. You could get polka dot bed sheets pink for the girl, blue for the boy or go completely neutral and go for green. Place a small desk or bedside table with a nightlight on top, maybe get their names on the wall above the bed too, or a shelf on each side with their favourite items on top. So much possibilities. It is so lovely to be able to leave a door open in summer months, but a draught is not pleasant so would have the fixed panel closer to the bed. To keep your view unobstructed you could fit any drapes you might want so they can be pulled right off the window, either all the way along the wall if one full length or on both sides if two panels.
