What colour would you paint your hallway, stairs and landing?

Looking for inspiration please

Need more info, is it dark, light,big, small, old,new? What is it like now and what do you want to be different about it?
I also have no clear what to do with our hallway!

Maybe if you stuck to one colour scheme such as white and purple or grey and lime green, colours that compliment each other. You could have a cabinet on the larger side with some family photos or a mirror above it and maybe a single colour on the top half of the wall and a complimentary wallpaper on the bottom half. You could go for wood on the floor or a simple soft carpet but it might get muddy. You could also have a bench with storage underneath for shoes and bags, but try get a colour that matched the walls. You could also paint the banisters if they don't match the rest of the room.

I am a fan of black as a disappearing colour! If the tha bannisters were painted black the Victorian look of cast iron would fit. The walls are too pale , would you consider a dark green( FB Green Smoke) under the rail, next to the carpet, and a much lighter version above( FB Light Blue or Pale Powder). Not really sure of the shade of green in the carpet, it might be more FB Oval Room. I am fond of the Pugin look but realise it is powerful and invariably used with very dark paints. We changed our ginger brown stairs, over 3 storeys to white. 13 years later the effort was not only worth it but the pain has subsided too!

Hi Odette! Have you had any progress with decorating? Hanging a mirror could be good in terms of light reflection and making a space seem bigger than it is. I like your idea with the photographs and horizontal lines - I might add some adjustable spotlights to make a feature out of the photographs! For e.g.

Change the banisters. It has changed my life! I went for a medium grey, the carpet is dark an the walls are light. I've seen pics of black banisters and it looks amazing. Wall wise perhaps light with contrasting picture frames.

I was thinking of painting the banister but wouldn’t dare go black! Have you got any images of yours? Did you paint any of your other woodwork grey to match?

A sea blue would go great with the carpet.
