Gravel on top of concrete?

Our driveway is looking very tatty, it is concrete with lots of cracks in it, it's as old as the house, around 1890, we want to get it dug up and to put gravel down, is there anything stopping us from laying gravel on top of the concrete? As the biggest cost is going to be removing the concrete

if you lay gravel on top it will just scatter off as it needs a bed in order to get a grip.

You can get composite - gravel/small stone embedded in epoxy type finishes that would probably work with an existing driveway as a foundation?

What about 6 massive pots? Two one either side of the bay windows and one on either side of the front door. (I too have a massive gray gravel drive way. Trying to plant through the gravel brings on a whole other set of challenges. Pots are just more practical, for me anyway.) I love those trees in the lawn area.:) And the green trim. Also, how would that bright area around the front door look painted a shade a bit closer to the color of the brick and stone areas?

I think it looks great so far. Many of the ads for claw foot tubs, and magazines, show them with encaustic/cement tile and plain white surround. Also, you did something creative and attractive with the tile layout. I love the nickel shine of your clawfoot legs too. If you can maybe get a corner shelf on one side of the wall, you'll have a place for soap, candle or bubble bath. And maybe hotel towel holder on another wall to get the height up. we've an area outside our patio doors that is in complete shade. it is paved with concrete slabs, since we moved in we've tried to keep the moss/slime off it, but no joy. so we want to change the surface. anyone any experience- is resin bound gravel good in shade? maybe artificial lawn? we want something non-slip and moss resistant, that will lead to the lawn. any suggestions gratefully received, thanks all

Using cavity blocks for pillar

I need to build a pillar to house an ESB meter box. My design has been approved by ESB rep and electrician and I am about to buy the material but as this is my first time doing any kind of masonry work I wanted to get opinions from more experienced DIYers. I designed the pillar to be 670x670mm & 1950 mm tall with a 600mm deep footing block which extends 150mm from each sides. The pillar is made of cavity blocks (grey) up to the opening of the ESB box (1100mm high) and then made of 4 inches concrete blocks (yellow). I have never used cavity block and I am wondering if it's ok to leave them empty or do they need to be filled with sand/gravel or concrete. Let me know what you think please :)

Self-binding gravel may be an option. As said above, normal gravel will just move creating gaps you’ll be able to see plus being a safety hazard
