Hi, can anyone advise how they'd remove black and white spots, which I gather are a type of lichen, from pavers round our house, when they're surrounded by grass and plants? I've scrubbed a few with a metal brush (see photos), so that does work a bit, but it's painstaking. Any advice?
You just have to be careful on application. You could leave the external row next to plants untreated and focus your more laborious technique on these stones.
there is a product from sika called mould buster which can be applied and left and should help remove the spots of mould on the paving it is a low toxicity product, so should not cause any harm in drainage or to plants.
Sodium Hypochlorite. Works a treat. Dilute it in a Hozelock rose sprayer container and spray it over the pavers. Leave for 30 minutes or so and jet wash off. It didn't kill my flowers, that's all I can say.
