Latest update! Made a few changes to the book cabinet to the left of the fireplace. Added chrome legs to match the legs on the tv cabinet and added doors to the top half to try to make it look less cluttered. The lighting in the photos isn't great but hopefully you get the idea.Am quite pleased with the result. Am still trying to decide on art for over the fireplace, keep changing my mind but considering getting this canvas (see picture).

About your plumber saying "plumb layout is confirmed". That is a load of rubbish. It's fairly easy to move drains around (yes he might have to rip up some walls, but he can also do off-the-wall installations to avoid that). In a small bath proper placement is of the utmost importance!!! If you have the bathtub and shower next to each other that will be much better and then the glass separator idea should work. padmaramachandran's (see post above) setup sounds more reasonable to me as well (see first picture below). This is similar to your setup but as you have more space you could put in bath tub and shower where the picture only shows a bath tub. Also if you do it that way you could theoretically have a bidet or a wider wash basin (small double perhaps too). Example layout: Do you need a bathtub in the guest bath? If not you have a lot more room to work with. E.g. for a double wash basin and large walking shower and a bidet (2nd picture). Example of off-the-wall installation for toilet and bidet and a large walking shower. Finally if you ignore this advice and do it the way you planned ;) then I suggest you really thing about that glass separator. Doing it right will make a lot of difference (see 3rd picture). I would find a neutral tone that is in the stone. It looks like there is a wide range from light creams to darks to suit any taste. Personally, I'm not a fan of cool grays so I would look for warmer tones in the stone. If you plan to leave the oriental rug, I would take it into account when choosing. As an option, you could pull a color out of the rug. It is always good to test color swatches on the wall (a sizable swatch) to see what the paint color does at different times of day. You will also have to make a decision about the sheen of the paint (matte - semi gloss). I find walls with texture (the photo looks like your's might be textured) do better with a matte finish - other than that it becomes personal preference. One nice thing about paint is that it is just paint. If you paint it and don't like it, you can always change it without much effort or cost. Do give a new color a chance to grow on you. Sometimes change is jarring and we make a snap judgement without getting to know the change :)

Pineapples seem to be a fashion thing at the moment in interior design, looking back to the eighties. With a different lampshade, plainer and perhaps cylindrical, it would be lovely. I wouldn't honestly do a lot more pineapples though, one is fun, several become a natty collection that starts to look a bit off kilter!
