Please help. I need suggestions for exterior redesign of house.
Comments (15)hello bonnielynn75 and THANK YOU! your comment put a smile on my face re the red on the interior side of the door. It IS red on the inside as well, he insisted on that when we purchased it. no one here has it red on the inside and I wanted it to be white on the inside. do you see my dilemma?;) I agree with everything you are saying, I suppose this is the reason why so far I was not 100% sure about the black for the door either, although I like black...Agree, there is too much wall and I find the house to be looking a bit 'bland' and would like to change that. I LOVE shutters, but read somewhere that you never put shutters on wide windows, so got unsure about that, too...but perhaps just the one as I stated earlier. Would the color on that shutter be the same as the door (if I ever settle on a door color)? Unfortunately window boxes are not an option as we have quite a few cats and they may be used as litter boxes;) please don't tell me to get rid of the cats;)... Regarding the stoop (entrance) : we need to add another step (made of cement) on top of the existing step: it was removed when the new door was fitted. We were thinking of putting slate tiles or something dark to match the roof, if that makes any sense.... It is porous cement so unsuitable for painting, I think. What place in Ireland did you visit, we are close to the Irish Sea in the country surrounded by sheep;)......See MoreStair Design
Comments (0)Hi all, We are at construction stage of our new build and now need to decide/bottom out on the stair design. I've attached the plans and also a recent photo of the project. The interior curved wall will be constructed with the same stone as the outside and will cover from ground floor to 1st floor ceiling level. Our intention is to have an open thread design in order to allow the stone be seen - the thought is that we will have a single steel support with timber steps. The handrail and side of stairs is very much open for discussion/suggestions. I've seen loads of different options on the website however I'm still struggling to decide. I'd love to hear some fresh ideas from yourselves - the finish of the interior will be very much contemporary/modern. Thanks in advance for reading my post and helping out. Comments (17)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreNext step for this kitchen?
Comments (5)Hi. The kitchen looks lovely. As the windows are lower than the units I would avoid tiling or a splashback all the way round the kitchen. Maybe just either go for a decorative tiled splashback behind the hob or use a glass splashback. Keep it simple with clear/light coloured glass or look at other decorative ideas with wallpaper, art etc. Alternatively just tile that oven ŵall about a foot high, handmade metro tiles in a pale olive would look nice. I noticed you like copper so I don't know if this is an idea? It would look great against the white and work with the warm tones in the wood. https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/louises-kitchen-midcentury-kitchen-adelaide-phvw-vp~1768716 I would also add shelves. Try searching "Kitchen with shelves between windows" for ideas but I might just add 2 shelves either side of the Middle window and pop your herbs on there...See Moreamchivers
