Aurea stone- has anyone used?

Hi, has anyone used Aurea stone in paragon sfumato or Lincoln? Need to lock in a decision but it’s so hard to find good photos online of the detail! I thought I had locked in paragon but my husband isn’t interested he same page so trying to decide. Photos a bonus! Thanks :-)

Hi Sarah, I'd recommend you see if the showroom has larger samples or full size slabs to view them in. Each style will have a different grain, and the overall colour may not be exactly accurate with what is shown in photos on the website; you should ensure that whichever you select will work well with any other whites or off white finishes in the area by taking some samples with you to match up. Stone is very costly so it pays to ensure you're 110% happy with your decision. I've never heard of this stone manufacturer & had to google it - noticed it's from the US & Zenstone is the Melbourne supplier. Best of Luck with your project.

If it's a drop underneath that's about 1m then perhaps a lowered seating area might be better for keeping you out of the wind ? If you have a gravel or stone floor in that section - and enough space - then a kadai fire bowl in the middle will keep you cosy too ? Look out for second hand boat cushions for weather proof seating. Or make your own using foam and oilcloth . Then add floki rugs or thick throws or sheep /deer/reindeer hides to sit on ... A photo and some measurements might help ?!

Put in a few French drains where you dig a ditch and fill it with crushed rock to help the water drain. In low spots put in some drains [http://www.homedepot.com/p/Tuf-Tite-16-in-2-Hole-Drain-Sump-with-Grate-and-Seals-2HDS-4/203463511] with pipe running to the French drain. You might also need to bring in 10 yards of top soil along with some sand to raise your yard a bit as you're probably right at the water table level. We've had to do all this as we live in the Pacific Northwest in a reclaimed marsh [a nice word for a swamp] where we hit the water table if we dig down 3". We had to put down about 10 yards of top soil along with some sand to raise our back yard. We also dug a French drain along the back to connect to the associations drainage pipes through the neighborhood. My husband has put in at least 3 of the drains in strategic locations around the yard to help drain off the excess water. Our yard isn't perfect, but it isn't the swamp it was the first couple of years we were here. We have to apply moss killer every spring or it takes over the yard. My husband also puts down lime to soften the soil, and help the water drain easier. He and a friend rent an aerator every summer and do both our yards to help with the drainage as well.

Thank you guys. I went to the carpet showroom today and the guy there was not very helpful. Just threw a few books at me. So I am none the wiser really. But there would not be as much selection here in Ireland as what you would have in the states. I won't give up though, I saw a few ones with speckles on it and they were nice but I think I will hold out for the pattern ones if I see them. Maybe what I want is not out there..... Wont see any dirt, only have to Hoover once a week, no foot marks and light in color ??
