How wide are the columns?

How wide are the columns here? These days people use wider columns but sometimes that look is disproportionate. Is there a rule tow how wide column one can get? Thank you.

The proper width of columns is going to be dependant on a lot of factors including the proportions of your house and the look you are trying to achieve. Best of luck with your project!

How would you decorate this living room?

How would you decorate this living room? It's 15ft wide by 23ft long so a good big room. There's a an arch into the kitchen and 2 small bedrooms off it. Double doors at the back & at the front. tv going on wall beside open arch stove in that corner also. I'm thinking of separating the room into two areas. L shaped couch around tv area & coffee table and armchair in the back corner for kind of reading area. Your help would be great!! Thanks

Looking for some advice on putting a wardrobe over that awkward box covering the stairs bulkhead in the boxroom. Its about 100cm wide and 87cm in depth. I was thinking of getting a pax wardrobe from Ikea cutting it down to size at the top, however, to be flush with the front of the box, I can't attach it to the wall. If I do attach the wardrobe, it would be back against the wall with about 40cm of the box protruding out in front. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can solve this? Thanks in advance for any help.
