How would you decorate this living room?

How would you decorate this living room? It's
15ft wide by 23ft long so a good big room. There's a an arch into the kitchen and 2 small bedrooms off it. Double doors at the back & at the front. tv going on wall beside open arch stove in that corner also.
I'm thinking of separating the room into two areas. L shaped couch around tv area & coffee table and armchair in the back corner for kind of reading area. Your help would be great!! Thanks

the place is due to be painted next month..would it be OK to paint all the walls white then add colour in just with accessories like rugs, plants, cushions, lamps etc or should I be painting in colours and doing feature walls etc...I've always liked a white and blue beachy type theme if this would work with this room ?

Difficult to say without knowing the style of your furniture you have/like. One thing I noticed, is that the previous owners did have the curtains just above the window frame. It looks better if you hang them closer to the ceiling. Makes the ceiling appear higher. Also, if you are going for curtains too, have the rods wide enough to be able to have the curtains next to the windows instead of in front of them, when open. I'd advise you to create one or more ideabooks here on Houzz, so we can see what style you like.
