Stainless Steel island

Would anyone have advice about stainless steel as a worktop surface on an island please? The kitchen will be a modern, handle less style and we were thinking of having a mix of granite and stainless steel on the island... Any feedback would be most welcome. Something like in the images attached.

I should add that we will have our hob on the island, we were thinking of having the stainless steel at the hob end of the island.

I would ordinarily recommend that you don't mix cream/ivory with white as they can often clash, but you have pulled it off with the worktops! bringing in more white in the form of the glossy table will only enhance the look you have already created. the only other option would be a glass table with white chairs or stick with the accent colour of subtle grey for the chairs.

What I'm actually wondering though is about mixing the metals - so having the chandelier and lamps with the touch of silver - or would I be better to source antique brass lamps like I have in some other rooms in the house - I kind of wanted to feature quite a bit of glass, and generally the glass comes with chrome, but I'm not sure if it's too modern for the sideboard etc, and mores worried about the clash of metals, but something tells me it might be ok in this instance! I have chrome taps and rainfall shower head in new bathroom and kept with antique brass for the light fittings and door/press knobs. Also yes the room is small but that's not an issue - it is what it is and I'm fine with it!

I think I'd have an island that would work in your current kitchen. I agree with you trying to match the perimeter cabinets will not work quite right. How about a stainless steel type island? Or an island with a butcher block top? Something totally different so it looks intentional.

I am looking for a company that can supply and fit a oak and glass staircase. Possibly stainless steel hand rail. Needs to be slighty chunky look as the hallway is very spacious. The staircase to be T-shaped. Property is located in County Mayo, staircase will be new and not a replacement.
