How do I co-ordinate my living room with this wallpaper seem to have a lot of the same colour
Comments (20)HI -- Well the wallpaper was just done so there is no changing that , soooo I think you should paint the rest of that wall the same white as the white background of the wallpaper and paint fireplace mantel too. Then have two small matching cabinets painted the blue from the paper or the leaf color placed on each side of the fireplace. . Then have white or glass shelves above , maybe three is best . Now the rest of the room painted the exact color of your sofa . Because the room looks small I think it would look best to have the sofa blend into the walls color wise. Now just keep some of your room accents in the blue color but not too much. Remember not to clutter the shelves and if you don't want the shelves then have a large painting on each side and have a big round mirror over the mantel and keep the small items off the mantel and onto the side cabinets ....See MoreHelp with my living room
Comments (791)I've been thinking of you,Fragle - I remember those sleepless nights when the babies first came home and everyone was sleep deprived but life-as -always still had to go on, esp for Mommy. So happy for you that you have a 'good' baby, I love the name too:-)...See Morehow can i make the most of thsi fire place?
Comments (6)Agree with Judith too, paint all one colour as back wall. I like the fireplae and wouldn't replace it. That mirror it too big and not very interesting, doesn't do anything for the wall or the fireplace. The gold I suspect clashes with the metal on the surround, bit too new and shiny. I think a great piece of artwork would really set off the fireplace and make it a gorgeous focal point. As the fireplace is very angular I suggest a more organic colourful piece to soften it up a bit. A real painting rather than a print if you can. Keep an eye out at markets, second hand stores ... or even eBay!...See MoreHelp with a boring bedroom
Comments (23)Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme....See MoreMisha Andersen Design Ltd.
